Mysteries are my passion, both for writing as well as reading. I’ll read just about any mystery, though my preference is police procedural or detective novels. A few of my favorite authors: P.D. James, Michael Connolly, John Sandford, John Lescroart, and Sue Grafton. Other authors I enjoy are Stephen King, Daniel Silva, Stephan Hunter, Vince Flynn, and Greg Ilies. I am a member of the Mystery Writers of America and Sisters in Crime.
My first published short story, “A Good Man of Business,” appeared in Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine (Jan 2011 edition). It won the Robert L Fish Award for the best first mystery for the 2012 Edgar Awards. The next story I sold to Ellery Queen was chosen for the anthology “The Best American Mystery Stories of 2014,” edited by Otto Penzler and Laura Lippman. Currently I’m seeking an agent to represent my first novel, “The Stable.”
Besides fiction, I also review books and movies. My book reviews appear in the e-zine Suspense Magazine. I usually contribute reviews each month, and I’m featured in the Contributor’s Corner in the May 2012 edition. I’m a life-long lover of movies, and last year I began a blog called “The Omnivorous Cinephile” where I review new movies, classics, and also ones that have been overlooked.
